§ Engineering
What holds
it up.
A Monocycle° is the sum of three obsessions. Frame, hub, wheel. Each one engineered as if it were the only one.

§ 01 — Frame
Frame.
We forge each frame from a single billet of 7075 aluminum, then hand-weld the seat tube. The bend is computed for vertical compliance under landing load — soft to the body, rigid to the wheel.
- Alloy
- 7075-T6
- Mass
- 612 g
- Process
- TIG welded

§ 02 — Hub
Hub.
The hub carries everything. Cromoly axle, ABEC-7 sealed bearings pressed to a tolerance of 0.005 mm, and a copper-anodized flange that stiffens the spoke pattern under torsional load.
- Bearings
- ABEC-7
- Axle
- Cromoly 4130
- Tolerance
- 0.005 mm

§ 03 — Wheel
Wheel.
36 stainless spokes laced 3-cross, hand-tensioned to 110 kilograms-force. The wheel is true to within 0.2 mm and stays that way for 5,000 km of riding.
- Spokes
- 36 × 2.0 mm
- Tension
- 110 kgf
- True
- ± 0.2 mm
